IELTS FAQs

01What is the difference between IELTS Academic and IELTS UKVI?

They are the same test in content. IELTS for UKVI is taken at approved centres and is required for some UK visa routes. Your counsellor will tell you which one your university and visa need.

02What band do I need?

Most undergraduate programmes ask for 6.0–6.5 overall and most postgraduate programmes 6.5, with minimum scores in each skill. Competitive courses ask for more.

03How long is an IELTS score valid?

Two years from the test date for most universities and visa purposes.
